June or July, 1908. She and her husband lived in Chesaw and Orient, small places in Northern Washington, near British Columbia border.

                           Calif.

Sybil was brought up by Sanford relatives in Missouri. Lena was taken care of by Pierce Granger Maltbie and wife, Elfa, at the age of 5. "They lavished everything on her, but she turned out just like her mother". "Mr. Sanford took the two youngest children to the mines in Idaho, he would not let anyone have them."
